Feijoa Smoothie


Vegan Feijoa Smoothie

Its feijoa season! Now that autumn is well and truly settling in, feijoas are in abundance and make for a nice change when the stone fruit season is over. Kids love them and they are easy to pop into school lunch boxes.

Feijoas are high in fibre and vitamin C, and also contain anticancer properties.

This morning I thought I'd pop them into my Nutri Ninja with a whole peeled orange and blitz it up for an easy morning drink. I just used cold filtered water (you could probably use coconut water) and if you wanted it extra cold, you could throw in some extra ice cubes.

Recipe:

  • 1 orange, peeled and separated into segments
  • 4-5 feijoas, depending on size, peeled and halved
  • +- 500ml of cold water
  • 1/2 cup ice (optional)

Place all the above into your high powered blender and blitz for 1 minute.
